Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe - Vaccine Safety
The website of the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe - Vaccine Safety is a member of the WHO-led project Vaccine Safety Net (VSN). The MCAZ website provides information regarding the regulation medicines and medical devices, regulation of clinical trials, pharmacovigilance and licensing of premises and persons. The website has a section dedicated to vaccine safety which provides information on vaccines and immunizations. The vaccine information provided on the website is aimed at the general public, healthcare professionals, academia, researchers, policy makers and other relevant stakeholders. We also intend to provide a forum through which our stakeholders can ask questions about vaccine safety and adverse events following immunizations. Information and documents contained on the website are from various sources which include the relevant MCAZ guidelines and bulletins, Adverse events following immunization forms, vaccines rates information sheets as well as peer reviewed scientific journals and other reliable websites with information on vaccines. The website is funded by the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe, a statutory board which was created by an Act of Parliament called the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act [15:03] of 1969. The content displayed on the MCAZ website is approved by the MCAZ Pharmacovigilance and Clinical trials Advisory Committee and is in line with SOP 21 (ICT SOP for adding items on the website). The content is also first reviewed by the Quality Office and is authorized by the Director –General of MCAZ. The content is reviewed frequently as long as there in new information and at least bi-annually. For all the information contained in the website we are guided by the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act [15:03] and its regulations. The Site includes links to third-party web sites which are not maintained by MCAZ. MCAZ does not review, endorse or approve the third party sites and is not responsible for their content. Users agree that linking to or using the third party sites is at their sole risk and that MCAZ will not be liable for any loss or damages arising from use of those sites. MCAZ will not be responsible for information provided to the users on the Other Sites.
