The Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) is the sole and the largest organization of the pediatricians in the country. The IAP Advisory Committee on Vaccines & Immunization Practices (ACVIP) is the official committee of the Academy that look after all the issues pertaining to pediatric and adolescent immunization in the country.

This is the official website of the IAP ACVIP to provide up-to-date information on vaccination to both general public and heath care professionals. The site contain information about the latest recommendations by the committee on different vaccines, yearly vaccination schedule, and details including agenda, proceeding, recommendations, of all the meetings conducted by the committee and its sub-committees. The site is designed to provide impetus to vaccination drive all over the country and counteract any misinformation campaign against vaccination.

Resources on the website include detailed publications of the ACVIP, other useful vaccination related activities of international agencies like WHO, CDC, National Vaccine Policy, links to the key national and international websites pertaining to vaccination, and latest news items in the field of vaccination. The site also provides an opportunity to pediatricians, health care professionals and parents to directly seek opinion of the vaccine experts through direct interaction.

The website also provides the general public and health professionals access to information regarding the benefits of immunization as well as information guidebooks on basic and advanced vaccinology in a free downloadable format.

Website's sponsorship policy

The parent organization, Indian Academy of Pediatrics funds all the activities of ACVIP including maintenance expenditure of this website.

A separate account is maintained by the IAP for all the expenditures of the committee. The committee participates in collaborative projects with other health agencies like WHO, UNICEF, NPSP, etc. The committee's bi-annual publication, "IAP Guidebook on Immunization" is also funded by the parent organization.

Website’s content or editorial policy

Information provided on the website is independently developed, published and updated on a regular basis by the convener of the IAP Advisory Committee on Vaccines and Immunization Practices (ACVIP) from the technical inputs from other members of the committee.

The committee supervises and reviews all the content of the website periodically. The committee meets twice every year and content are reviewed and approved during the proceedings of these meetings.
