Description of the website

The website of vacunacion.org is a member of the WHO-led project Vaccine Safety Net (VSN).

The vacunacion.org website provides information on vaccine and immunization. The main sections is dedicated to the promotion of vaccination and to vaccine safety. In these pages visitors can find information about specific vaccine-preventable diseases (diagnosis, complications, epidemiology and surveillance), and the vaccines used to prevent them (including how they work and what they contain, which are the available vaccines, the main national and international strategies to promote vaccination, and data on international and national vaccine coverage).

Vaccine information is presented in various formats including general information sheets, articles, diagrams, studies, reports, links to external sites, news, comments by collaborators, links to scientific articles, links to surveillance reports, recommendations, fact sheets, risk assessments, press releases initiatives, projects, link to a system for solving doubts online by a doctor called @doc and other useful tools published by VSN members, national health authorities or others, such Mexican Ministry of health, Spanish Association of Vaccinology, Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Panamerican health Organization (PAHO), European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) and World Health Organization (WHO).

Website’s content or editorial policy

Vacunacion.org is aimed at delivering updated information and services regarding vaccines and immunizations to health professionals and public in general. The website is reviewed every two months and modified if is necessary.

When there is external article for expert, news or information of importance, the collaborator staff writes news and articles that are submitted to the president and other collaborators experts for scientific review and authorization.
